Civil Engineering Internship

Civil Engineering- Internship In India

Civil engineering industry primarily covers activities of engineering
discipline from planning, designing and construction of buildings to development of water supplying structures. Civil engineering industry also encompasses areas like soil and rock mechanics, surveying, material science and environmental science.

Built environment, comprising construction and real estate related activities, is one of the major contributors to the Indian economy, for approximately 17.7% of GDP in 2009-10.

So it’s quite obvious that India’s civil industry along with the growth in infrastructure is ever increasing.

To deliver potential real estate space and planned infrastructure, India needs nearly 4 million civil engineers, architects and 119,000 planners on an average, over the next decade.

The estimated supply of non-core professionals in the built environment sector is nearly 3 times the supply of core professionals. Civil engineering department has the potential of creating job opportunities, some of the job types are contractors, builders, educators or researchers.

Civil engineering industry has the potentiality to build a strong economy and so more multinational companies and engineers are showing their interests to be involved with this industry. With the development of society and because of technological advancement, demand of civil engineering activities are also increasing.

In the last decade or so, India Infrastructure Growth has been propelled specially in transport sector with adequate intervention of Central and State Governments aided by a host of private investments from within and outside the country.

Government is now putting in place a policy framework under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, would allow large infrastructure projects to come up on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis. The IIFC, and the scheme to support PPP in infrastructure can be hoped to go a long way in construction of large infrastructure projects in the country.

The Indian Government has envisaged The Indian Railways Vision 2020 which aims to tackle infrastructure obstacles and deliver best services while building capacity. Further, to attract private investment, more sectors like irrigation, oil and gas storage facilities and telecommunication have been made eligible for viability gap funding under the scheme ‘Support to PPP in Infrastructure’.

Road Construction and infrastructure construction is the wheel of Indian economic growth from the time of 2004 when it became a word of mouth.

The infrastructure-growth cycle suggests that India should be growing at tremendous rates for the next five years.

The persons who like to be involved in civil engineering industry should have good communication ability with computational and analytical skills. They should also have the technical competence to get the optimum results.

The Interns who come to India can expect to get hands on experience ranging from field support to detailed technology support.

They would work directly with other Engineers and professionals in a team environment and see how people work together to deliver success. They can also develop their skills under the supervision and guidance of experienced professionals. Infact the interns use India Internship Programme as a gateway to explore job opportunities in the future. So we would invite all the young professionals and students to come and share the wonderfulexperience that is India.
